Anthelephila (лат.) — род жуков трибы Formicomini из семейства быстрянок (Anthicidae, Anthicinae)[1][3][2].

Распространение

Старый Свет. Наибольшее количество видов рода Anthelephila сосредоточено в тропических регионах Африки и Юго-Восточной Азии, но некоторые виды также встречаются в более северных частях Евразии[1]. В Европе 8 видов: Anthelephila caeruleipennis, A. canaliculata, A. hauseri, A. hispanica, A. ionica, A. latro, A. ninus, A. pedestris[4].

Описание

Мирмекоморфные жуки-блестянки. Виды рода Anthelephila практически идеально имитируют внешний вид муравьев: у них заметно узкая шея, переднеспинка шире спереди и уже сзади, усики длинные и тонкие. Самцы обычно меньше самок. Питаются органическими остатками, мелкими беспозвоночными и грибами. Только у нескольких видов были зарегистрированы мирмекофильные взаимодействия; для большинства видов мирмекоморфизм — это только форма бейтсовской мимикрии, которая гарантирует защиту от потенциальных хищников[1].
