Ян Вацлав Стах (пол. Jan Wacław Stach; 8 марта 1877, Жешув, Цислейтания — 28 июля 1975, Краков) — польский учёный-зоолог, профессор Ягеллонского университета, Почетный доктор (1947), действительный член Польской академии наук (1958)[1].
Биография
Родился 8 марта 1877 года.
Начал работать школьным учителем.
В 1919—1939 год, а затем в 1945—1953 годах заведовал Физикографическим музеем (позднее — Музей естественной истории в Кракове).
В 1953—1960 годах — Директор Краковского отделения Зоологического института Польской академии наук.
- В 1923 году — Член-корреспондент Польской академии наук и литературы, с 1945 года её действительный член.
- С 1958 года действительный член Польской академии наук.
Вышел на пенсию в 1960 году.
Скончался 28 июля 1975 года в Кракове.
Вклад в науку
В середине XX века был одним из главных специалистов по Apterygota (особенно Collembola).
Другим его научным интересом была палеонтология млекопитающих[2].
